AI Seoul Summit
The upcoming AI summit, hosted in Seoul by the Republic of Korea and the United Kingdom, builds on the AI Safety Summit held at Bletchley Park in November.
What can we expect from the summit?
🌐 The summit will bring together leading AI nations for talks (this will include UK, Republic of Korea, and global industry leaders).
🧠 The summit will prioritise examining the capabilities of frontier AI models and the commitments to AI safety.
🚀 Discussions will focus on promoting innovation and equitable AI benefits.
🏛️ The summit builds on agreements from the previous AI Safety Summit at Bletchley Park.
🎩 The first day will showcase a ‘Leaders' Session’ co-chaired virtually by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Republic of Korea President Yoon Suk Yeol.
💼 The second day will feature in-person talks among digital ministers co-hosted by Secretary Michelle Donelan MP and Korean Minister of Science and ICT Lee Jong-Ho.
📈 The summit aims to continue the momentum from Bletchley Park to advance the global AI safety agenda.
🇬🇧 The summit is aligned with the UK's focus on AI innovation and is supported by initiatives like the Manchester Prize and the AI Safety Institute (AISI).
📚 We will see the release of the first iteration of the International Scientific Report on Advanced AI Safety, led by Turing Prize winner Yoshua Bengio.
